I stumbled across this site that has some satellite photos of the whole area affected by Ike. Galveston, Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, etc.

I did wind up finding the house we stayed at and yes, it’s gone. Here’s a shot of it

Well I checked and apparently the place we stayed at in Crystal Beach, Texas really doesn’t exist anymore. My “Beach” photos were taken there.
